An offline store for buying and selling digital assets has opened in the capital of Uzbekistan. The project launched under the Voluto brand, owned by major local payment company Paynet.
According to the specialized Telegram channel uzbekfintech, the new location offers legal cryptocurrency exchange for cash.
How the exchange works
The store allows individuals, including foreign citizens, to conduct transactions with the USDT stablecoin. The procedure is structured similarly to banking services.
To complete a transaction, a customer must provide documents and undergo identity verification. After exchanging cash for digital assets (or vice versa), the user receives an official document confirming the transaction. The exchange rate is based on the company’s own liquidity. A separate meeting room is available for clients with large transaction volumes.
This is not Paynet’s first step beyond everyday transfers. Finteqstan previously reported that the company entered the investment market by acquiring a stake in the GoInvest broker. Now the ecosystem is expanding into the crypto segment.
Infrastructure and plans
The launch of Voluto occurs as Uzbekistan forms a regulatory framework for digital assets, overseen by the National Agency of Perspective Projects (NAPP). The state is gradually building a legal regime for crypto operations, requiring providers to comply with KYC (know your customer) rules and transaction transparency.
The emergence of physical locations with mandatory identification potentially creates a safe and clear alternative to shadow P2P exchanges.
The opening of the offline store is announced as the first stage of the new brand’s development. In 2027, the company plans to release its own mobile crypto wallet, allowing customers to buy, sell, and store digital assets remotely.
