Uzbek regulator warns of fake SMS messages impersonating traffic inspection

The National Bank of Uzbekistan has warned of fraudulent SMS messages sent on behalf of the Road Safety Service (SBDD) demanding payment for alleged traffic fines.

Scammers are sending SMS texts containing payment links that lead to phishing websites designed to steal personal data and bank card details. NBU advises against following links from suspicious messages, urges drivers to verify fines only via official government services, and warns never to enter card details on unfamiliar sites. Customers with questions can contact the call center at 1344 or (78) 148-00-10.
