In January–August 2026, Uzbekistan’s commercial banks issued mortgage loans worth 18.3 trillion UZS to 59.2 thousand citizens for home purchases — up 4.9 trillion UZS compared to the same period last year.
Average interest rates on the issued loans ranged from 16.9% to 21.6%, depending on the funding source. 74% of mortgage lending went to the primary housing market, while 26% went to the secondary market. Borrowers aged 18–30 accounted for 26% of the total, while those aged 31–50 made up 64%.
