According to spot.uz, the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan has amended departmental regulations to allow citizens to present electronic versions of passports, ID cards, and other documents alongside paper originals.
The amendments were registered on October 20 under numbers 3958 and 3959. Electronic documents can be presented via the MyGovUz and “Social Card” mobile apps.
Digital versions are accepted at banks when accessing services and verifying identity, by notaries when performing notarial acts, at airports when checking in for domestic flights, as well as when signing agreements with telecom operators, pawnshops, receiving paid services at medical and social institutions, and in other cases. Electronic versions of documents have been granted the same legal status as physical copies since July 1, 2025.
