At its September 16 meeting, the board of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan kept the policy rate unchanged at 14% per annum, citing lingering pro-inflationary risks despite inflation slowing to 6.2% in August.
Core inflation stood at around 5.5%. The Central Bank pointed to persistent price pressures across the economy and a sluggish decline in inflation expectations. The next rate review meeting is scheduled for October 28, 2026.
