Russia bans taking over 1M rubles in cash to Uzbekistan and CIS countries

According to spot.uz, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree banning the export of cash rubles exceeding 1 million rubles to Uzbekistan, EAEU countries, and several other states in the region.

The restriction applies to Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. For legal entities and individual entrepreneurs, taking out cash rubles is prohibited regardless of the amount.

Exceptions are provided for individuals: an amount exceeding 1 million rubles can be taken out through designated international airports in Russia with bank statements confirming the cash withdrawal from an account or deposit. For legal entities, an exception is made for international transit if both the departure and destination points are outside Russia.

In case of a violation, the amount exceeding 1 million rubles is seized from individuals. For legal entities and individual entrepreneurs, all cash being exported is subject to seizure. The Russian government, together with the Central Bank, must approve a cash ruble tracking procedure within three months.
