The uPay.net money transfer service to cards issued by Uzbekistan’s Humo and Uzcard payment systems has launched in the US, founded in New York by Uzbekistan natives Khusrav Makhmudov and Akmal Abdullaev.
The platform previously allowed users to remotely pay for mobile services, internet, and utilities in Uzbekistan. The company stated that it complies with US and Uzbek financial regulatory requirements, ensures transaction security, and has built the necessary banking and compliance infrastructure. Launching transfers from the US is seen as the project’s first phase; the founders plan to expand the transfer geography and integrate new financial tools.
