Ministry of Economy and Finance adds 24 companies to register of public interest entities

According to spot.uz, Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Economy and Finance added 24 new companies to the register of public interest entities, bringing the total from 425 to 449.

The updated list includes insurers, microfinance and factoring organizations, payment services, and companies from other sectors. Among them are insurers Kafolat and Asia Insurance, as well as Digital Pay, Paypoint, and Angren Shakar.

Following a review, the ministry determined that 17 companies already on the register no longer meet the criteria. Under the regulations, these organizations will remain on the list for another two years to maintain continuity in financial reporting, auditing, and corporate governance requirements.

Starting January 1, 2027, companies added to the register in 2026 must keep their accounting records under International Financial Reporting Standards. By the end of 2028, they are required to prepare IFRS-compliant financial statements and publish them alongside an audit report.
