NAPP and Uzbekistan Prosecutor's Office update internal control rules for crypto-assets

Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General’s Office have amended the internal control rules for crypto-asset service providers.

The amendments take effect upon official publication following their state registration on September 28, 2026.

The updated rules refine internal control systems for service providers, clarify requirements for customer due diligence and reporting suspicious transactions, improve procedures for monitoring internal control effectiveness, and align terminology with current legislation.

The changes aim to strengthen the anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing, and counter-proliferation financing (AML/CFT/CPF) framework, implement international FATF standards, and reduce the risks of these services being exploited for illicit activities.
