Apple Pay officially launches in Uzbekistan with cards from eight banks

On the morning of October 27, 2026, users in Uzbekistan gained access to add bank cards to Apple Wallet. Head of the Presidential Administration Saida Mirziyoyeva first announced the launch, and the Central Bank later officially confirmed it. Spot.uz reports.

In the initial stage, the service only supports cards from international payment systems Visa and Mastercard. Cards from eight credit institutions can be linked to Apple Wallet:

  • Uzum (Visa);
  • Orient Finans Bank (Visa and Mastercard);
  • NBU (Visa and Mastercard);
  • Kapitalbank (Visa and Mastercard);
  • Hamkorbank (Visa);
  • Ipak Yuli Bank (Visa and Mastercard);
  • TBC Bank (Visa and Mastercard);
  • Octobank (Visa and Mastercard).

The publication notes that the launch is in test mode, so some users may experience difficulties linking their cards.

Status of national systems

National payment systems Uzcard and HUMO are not yet supported in Apple Pay. According to Gazeta.uz, the Central Bank stated that technical integration of local cards is ongoing. The regulator promises to add support for them “in the near future,” but has not specified exact dates.

Simultaneously with Apple Pay, Google Pay launched in the Uzbekistan market for Android devices.

The arrival of international payment services became possible after legislative changes. On March 26, 2026, a law was signed in Uzbekistan abolishing the requirement to store personal data exclusively on servers within the country. Restrictions remain only for biometric, genetic, and telecom data.
