145 reviews of 13 banking apps in the App Store for September 16–23, 2026, split between polar ratings: 59 five-star reviews and 63 one-star reviews. Based on App Store user feedback, MBank in Kyrgyzstan received the most criticism over the week, while SQB in Uzbekistan received the most praise.

🇰🇿 Kazakhstan

ForteApp — 4.7 out of 5 (18 reviews), up from 4.4 (24 reviews) last week. One user praises a manager who helped open a card; several reviews give top marks without details. Another user complains about a technical error when repaying a loan and an unclear early repayment mechanism, while another cites a delay in displaying the available card balance.

Kaspi.kz — 2.8 out of 5 (14 reviews), down from 3.0 (10 reviews). Four comments mention problems with the app loading or freezing, one of which includes a five-star rating. One user could not complete registration due to issues receiving an SMS code and accessing the camera. Separately, one user complains about a bad experience returning shoes bought through Kaspi Shop, and another about used consoles being sold as new.

Freedom SuperApp — 2.7 out of 5 (11 reviews), down from 2.8 (17 reviews). One user describes a case where salary and vacation pay did not appear in the account, despite bank statement confirmation. Another complains about the lack of the Kazakh language in the App Store promo video, and a third about the disappearance of bonuses awarded for app ratings. Halyk Kazakhstan — 2.1 out of 5 (7 reviews), unchanged from last week. Five of the seven reviews are one-star: users complain about freezing upon login, inconvenient conversion of small currency balances, and unavailable support. Two users praise the new interface design.

BCC Business 2.0 — 4.7 out of 5 (7 reviews), down from 5.0 (5 reviews). One user asks to fix the login screen, where the keyboard does not close when entering a phone number; the other six reviews are positive without details.

Users complain about constant app freezing and crashes, service unavailability exactly when they need to pay for a purchase, and payment failures during lunchtime. One user praises the number of government services available in the app.

🇦🇿 Azerbaijan

Birbank — 1.1 out of 5 (8 reviews), no comparison available. Seven of the 8 reviews are one-star: users complain about the lack of a hotline on the main screen, an incorrect deduction amount when paying by card on Trendyol, and broken face verification after an iOS update.

🇹🇯 Tajikistan

International Bank of Tajikistan (IBT) — 2.4 out of 5 (5 reviews), no comparison available. Three of the 5 reviews are one-star: one user writes about a card being blocked for four months without resolution, another about the app freezing after a Sept. 15 update. One review praises the app’s convenience and security.

Praise and pain of the week

The praise of the week goes to SQB in Uzbekistan: 15 out of 17 reviews are five stars, with users specifically noting favorable conversion rates compared to Payme and Click.
