Central Bank of Azerbaijan leaves refinancing rate unchanged at 6.5%

According to inbusiness.kz, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan kept its refinancing rate at 6.5% and the upper ceiling of the interest rate corridor at 7.5% on September 23, but lowered the lower bound from 5.5% to 5.0%.

The decision was made at the regulator’s meeting on September 23, 2026. The upper ceiling of the corridor was retained at 7.5%, while the lower bound was cut from 5.5% to 5.0%.

The parameters were previously revised in February 2026, when the refinancing rate was reduced to 6.5%, the upper corridor ceiling to 7.5%, and the lower bound to 5.5%. Both the rate and the upper bound have remained unchanged since then. As of August, annual inflation in Azerbaijan stood at 5.7%, against a target of 4% with a tolerance band of plus or minus 2 percentage points.

The Central Bank of Azerbaijan is scheduled to announce its next decision on the interest rate corridor on November 4, 2026.
