According to ranking.kz, Kazakh pawnbrokers posted a combined net profit of 36.9 billion tenge in the first half of 2026, with M-Lombard, MK-Lombard, and MK-Zoloto Lombard together accounting for 18.9 billion tenge, or 51.3% of the sector’s total.
A total of 323 pawnbrokers turned a profit, while 105 reported losses. M-Lombard led the market with 7.8 billion tenge, followed by MK-Lombard (5.9 billion tenge) and MK-Zoloto Lombard (5.2 billion tenge).
Sector profit rose 18.3% year-on-year, though growth is slowing: it stood at 31.4% a year earlier and reached 72.9% in the first half of 2024. Compared to the first half of 2023, when pawnbrokers earned 13.7 billion tenge, the figure has increased 2.7 times.
