We collected 164 App Store reviews for 13 banking and payment apps in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Kyrgyzstan over the week of October 7 to 14, 2026; the earliest were written on October 5. Halyk Kazakhstan received the most complaints: six users report they cannot issue an insurance policy. ForteApp earned the most five-star ratings — 22 out of 29, mostly general praise for the bank and the app. TBC Bank Uzbekistan saw the sharpest weekly drop — from ★3.3 to ★1.6, while MBank showed the highest growth — from ★1.3 to ★2.4.

The Weekly Scale

Out of 164 reviews, 74 are one-star (45%) and 63 are five-star (38%), with the remaining 27 split across two, three, and four stars. Extreme ratings heavily skew for ForteApp (22 five-star ratings out of 29), Halyk Kazakhstan (17 one-star ratings out of 23), and TBC Bank Uzbekistan (6 one-star ratings out of 7).

🇰🇿 Kazakhstan

ForteApp — ★4.2, unchanged from last week (which had 36 reviews). 22 of 29 reviews are five stars, mostly general praise: “excellent bank,” “convenient.” Three mention transfers, and one specifically praises fee-free transfers. Three of the four users who left a one-star rating cite camera and biometrics login issues: video authentication fails, the app freezes on the camera, and one user notes that without a working phone camera, mandatory biometrics block app access, prompting them to close their account. Another user advises against taking a Forte loan, claiming their account was seized and funds cannot be withdrawn.

Halyk Kazakhstan — ★1.7, down from ★2.1 a week earlier (which had 12 reviews). 17 of 23 reviews are one star. Six reviews concern insurance: users cannot issue or renew a policy, the “Pay” button is inactive, the app reports a failure to retrieve data from government agencies, and one user complains that paid technical assistance is added to the policy without an opt-out option. Another 11 reviews state the app lags, fails to open, or does not process payments and transfers; two note this started after the latest update. One user writes the bank now only allows transfers via the previous method after an iPhone update.

Home.kz — ★1.9, down from ★2.3 a week earlier (which had 10 reviews). 12 of 17 reviews are one star. Eight of the 17 report the app fails to open or freezes on loading, with four seeing a “something went wrong” error. One complains about biometric registration and card issuance failures, another about broken card-to-card transfers. A four-star review asks for an early closure feature.

Kaspi.kz — ★2.2, almost unchanged from last week (which had 8 reviews). 9 of 16 reviews are one star. Three report photo search freezes in the “Shop,” and one notes this happens on all their devices. Other complaints are scattered: a blocked card and unreturned funds, no warning about a paid service (1,995 tenge), icons becoming too small, failure to find an express delivery courier, and no beer delivery after 9:00 PM. Four-star reviews include requests to fully encrypt buyer addresses and phone numbers in the “Shop” and to add purchase sorting by date.

Freedom SuperApp — ★2.6, down from ★3.4 a week earlier (which had 12 reviews). 7 of 15 reviews are one star. Six reviews concern cashback: it is frozen or not arriving. This includes cashback for school grades: two authors identify as students, and one notes that while grades previously earned money, cashback now only arrives after a purchase. Another user is dissatisfied that viewing tickets required opening a card that cannot be closed in under 30 days, while another complains that news and events clutter the app.

Halyk Onlinebank for Business — ★5.0, unchanged from last week (which had 6 reviews). All seven weekly reviews are five stars, with two specifically praising speed and convenience.

🇺🇿 Uzbekistan

Payme — ★2.3, up from ★1.7 a week earlier (which had 16 reviews). 8 of 14 reviews are one star. Six criticize the new design: they ask to return the previous version, calling the interface complicated and inconvenient. Two others report money was debited from their card and not returned: one cites a fee charged during a card linking attempt.

Uzum Bank — ★3.3, down from ★3.5 a week earlier (which had 13 reviews). One user complains about a hidden fee when linking a card to Payme. Another lost their card and could not close it remotely: support sent them to verify their identity at an order pickup point. A four-star review asks to bring back the Apple Pay card addition feature from the previous version.

SQB (Uzsanoatqurilishbank) — ★4.0, down from ★4.1 a week earlier (which had 8 reviews). One user writes the app worked well six months ago but now throws errors, another says it fails at the most crucial moments, and a third gives four stars because the app occasionally glitches. The rest praise its convenience, with one specifically highlighting microloans.

TBC Bank Uzbekistan — ★1.6, down from ★3.3 a week earlier (which had 11 reviews). Six of seven reviews are one star. Three criticize the interface: the feed of large cards, post-update confusion, and the designers’ work. Three others report technical issues: the app takes a long time to load and constantly asks for a PIN or Face ID, login fails, and fixing a single error takes 72 hours.

Anorbank — ★4.2, cannot be compared to last week due to insufficient reviews then. One user complains that promotional push notifications cannot be disabled and debit notifications do not arrive. Another is tired of offers to buy dollars at a favorable rate every five minutes. The rest praise the app, including Anor Travel and international transfers.

🇦🇿 Azerbaijan

ABB mobile — ★3.9, cannot be compared to last week due to insufficient reviews then. Five praise the app, with one specifically mentioning the “buy now, pay later” service. Of the two one-star reviews, one notes a support operator ended the chat without answering the question. The second is brief and lacks details: the author mentions hidden fraud cases and claims AI provides incorrect information leading to financial losses.

🇰🇬 Kyrgyzstan

MBank — ★2.4, up from ★1.3 a week earlier (which had 10 reviews). Four of eight are one star: the app crashes and fails to open, and support does not respond after an account block. One writes that the credit section became inconvenient after an update: it is unclear if a payment went through.

Methodology

We read App Store reviews collected over the week of October 7 to 14, 2026, and kept apps with enough feedback: 13 banking and payment apps in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Kyrgyzstan, totaling 164 reviews. Some were written on October 5–6 but collected this week. The “Long-standing Requests and Complaints” section counts recurring themes in reviews over the past 12 months separately from the weekly numbers. The text is auto-generated and verified against the reviews by the editorial team. If you spot an error, please contact us.
