The World Bank reported that Kyrgyzstan’s construction loan portfolio more than doubled year-over-year as of June 2026.
Bank analysts attribute this to public investment driving a construction boom across Central Asia. In the first half of 2026, fixed capital investment in Kyrgyzstan grew by nearly 60%.
The World Bank highlighted several major regional projects, including the China–Kyrgyz Republic–Uzbekistan railway, the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, and the Rogun Dam.
