Freedom Holding Corp published Kazakhstan’s services Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) for September, which stood at 51.4 points down from 51.9 in August, pointing to marginal growth in activity as momentum slowed.
The index is measured on a scale from 0 to 100, where a reading above 50 indicates expanding activity. Freedom Holding Corp became the sponsor of the S&P Global index in Kazakhstan in October 2024.
According to the survey, growth in business activity slowed for the second straight month, marking the weakest expansion since the current upturn began in April. Inflows of new orders rose for a seventh consecutive month, though the pace of growth also cooled to a six-month low. Input costs continued to climb, yet service providers were reluctant to pass them on to clients: output prices rose only slightly, posting their slowest increase since December 2020.
