Otbasy Bank raises fee caps on large loans

According to kapital.kz, Otbasy Bank will change how it calculates the maximum loan origination fee starting October 31, 2026.

The base fee remains at 1% of the loan amount, but the caps will now depend on the loan size. For loans up to 50 million tenge inclusive, the maximum fee will be 300,000 tenge; from 50 to 100 million tenge, it will be 500,000 tenge; and above 100 million tenge, 1 million tenge. Previously, the fee was capped at 300,000 tenge regardless of the loan amount.

According to bank statistics, 92% of clients take out loans of up to 50 million tenge, so their fee remains unchanged. The new terms apply to loan applications submitted on or after October 31, 2026; earlier applications will be processed under the previous rules. The changes do not affect loans that have already been disbursed.
