Otbasy Bank has cancelled overdue statuses and late fees that hit customers due to technical glitches on October 8, when loan payments failed to process on time.
On October 8, Otbasy Bank customers ran into issues using the app and completing transactions. The bank stated that the disruptions were caused by technical maintenance. During the maintenance window, customers due to make a loan payment for October 7 may have seen their funds fail to debit on time, triggering overdue statuses and late fees.
On October 9, the bank reported that all services had been restored and were operating normally. Otbasy Bank cancelled the overdue statuses and late penalties for all customers who had sufficient funds in their accounts to cover the payment. No delinquency records were sent to credit bureaus.
