The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan has approved the creation of a new player in the country’s financial market. The regulator’s board officially permitted the establishment of Pochta Bank OJSC.
The decision to issue the permit was made on October 12, 2026, the regulator reported.
In Kyrgyzstan’s banking regulations, permission to establish is the first official step toward launching a financial organization. The document grants the right to register a legal entity in the form of an open joint-stock company, open an accumulation account to form the authorized capital, and begin preparing the infrastructure.
The permit itself does not yet grant the right to attract deposits or issue loans. To begin full-fledged operations with clients, Pochta Bank will have to meet all regulatory requirements and obtain a final banking license from the NBKR.
The regulator did not disclose in its brief statement who exactly is founding the new bank or when product launches are planned.
