In the first half of 2026, the volume of new loans issued to medium-sized businesses in Kazakhstan rose by 56.2% year-on-year to 1.9 trillion tenge, according to the analytical center of the Association of Financiers of Kazakhstan.
The number of loan applications grew by 4.1% to 10.3 thousand, while the approval rate climbed from 33.8% to 38.0%. Medium-sized enterprises accounted for 16.6% of all corporate loan disbursements, up from 12.8%. Industry generated nearly half of this growth, with trade contributing another 30%. The loan portfolio for medium-sized businesses reached 3.3 trillion tenge, rising 28.6% year-on-year.
