President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev officially endorsed China’s initiative to establish a Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Development Bank during a meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State in Bishkek.
Tokayev proposed directing the bank’s resources toward infrastructure, technology, and industrial projects. Kazakhstan is ready to host the bank’s headquarters if the organisation’s member states reach a consensus.
