Kazakh fintech group Kaspi.kz has closed its acquisition of fully licensed Turkish bank Rabobank A.Ş. This gives the company a ready-made financial infrastructure to operate in a new market.

The company announced the successful completion of the takeover on July 15. Rabobank’s active full license means Kaspi.kz can begin banking operations immediately. The group did not disclose integration details or its product strategy for the new asset in the official announcement.

Turkey has become the primary destination for the Kazakh company’s foreign expansion. Kaspi.kz previously acquired an 86.74% stake in Hepsiburada, one of Turkey’s largest marketplaces. As Finteqstan noted, an in-house bank will serve as the financial base to develop an ecosystem around this trading platform. The combined audience of the group’s services in Kazakhstan and Turkey now exceeds 25 million users.

July 2026 showed synchronized interest from Kazakhstan’s largest fintech players in the Turkish financial sector. Almost simultaneously with Kaspi.kz, Freedom group announced its expansion into Turkey. Kazakh fintechs have outgrown their home market and are now ready to test their technologies and business models amid the fierce competition and high inflation of the Turkish economy.

The market will now see exactly how Kaspi.kz links Rabobank’s license with Hepsiburada’s audience. The main question is whether the company will try to launch a full-fledged superapp in Turkey modeled after its Kazakh version, or if it will initially limit itself to financing marketplace purchases.
