Halyk Bank raises fee for interbank phone number transfers

Halyk Bank is increasing the cost of interbank card transfers by phone number. Starting November 27, 2026, the fee for these transactions in the Halyk SuperApp will rise by a quarter, from 200 to 250 tenge.

The new terms apply to retail tariff No. 41, which regulates sending money from a Halyk card to accounts in other Kazakhstani banks using Open API technology. The financial institution’s press center announced the price change.

The official reason for the fee revision is adaptation to current market conditions. The statement emphasizes that the tariff update aims to maintain the bank’s high level of service and reliability.

Retail clients get a long transition period. The new rates will take effect three months after the announcement; until November 27, app users can make transfers at the old rate.

The tariff change by the market’s largest player directly increases the cost of fast, everyday transfers for mass users.

Why it matters

As Kazakhstan's largest bank, Halyk's fee hike directly impacts the cost of everyday peer-to-peer transfers for a massive retail customer base.
