Analysts at the Association of Financiers of Kazakhstan expect annual inflation in August to reach 9.8–9.9%, falling below 10% for the first time due to seasonal food price drops, tight monetary conditions, and a stronger tenge.
Monthly inflation could slow to 0.5–0.6%. August inflation data was published on September 2. The strengthening of the national currency limits the pass-through of external price pressures to import costs, though high domestic demand and rising business expenses could keep monthly inflation from slowing more substantially.
