Kazakhstan’s Freedom Insurance has paid out about 9.8 million tenge for the total loss of an ARC Airis 3 drone that crashed into a building in Almaty while delivering groceries.
The aircraft was insured under a movable property insurance contract for unmanned aerial vehicles, taken out in early 2026 to cover four of the delivery company’s drones. The drone cost about 17.5 million tenge, but an independent appraisal determined its repair value at 12.6 million tenge. After deducting depreciation and a 15% deductible, the payout amounted to 9.8 million tenge. The payout was made within 10 business days of receiving the report from the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan, which classified the incident as a collision with a building.
