Corporate deposits in Kazakh banks fell 3.9% in August to 21.6 trillion tenge, according to the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market.
Banking sector liabilities rose 0.2% in August to 64.4 trillion tenge. Retail deposits edged up 0.1% to 28.5 trillion tenge. National currency deposits dropped 0.5% to 41.0 trillion tenge, while foreign currency deposits sank 5.6% to 9.2 trillion tenge.
The weighted average interest rate on tenge-denominated term deposits for legal entities fell to 15.7% from 15.9% in July, while the rate for individuals stood at 14.6%.
