Digital bank DC Next (the Dushanbe City Bank app) has added instant issuance for virtual UnionPay cards. This is according to the bank’s product landing page and a post on its official Telegram channel.
The card is issued entirely within the mobile app and takes a few seconds. Customers do not need to visit a bank branch. They simply go to the “Cards” section, select the option to order a new card, and tap “UnionPay Virtual.” The card details immediately become available for online payments and transfers.
Alongside the card launch, the bank is offering zero-fee transfers to UnionPay cards in China. Exact maintenance fees for the virtual card, account currency, and transaction limits have not yet been publicly disclosed.
The DC Next app has over 5 million downloads on Google Play and is a key fintech product in Tajikistan. Launching the virtual card expands local users’ access to international payment infrastructure without requiring physical interaction with a financial institution.
Instant issuance of international cards is becoming the standard for Tajik banks as they increasingly compete for customers’ daily transactions in digital channels.
