Kazakhstan’s capital ranked 57th among 117 global financial centers in the 40th edition of the Global Financial Centres Index, climbing from 65th place.
Astana’s rating rose by 18 points, from 684 to 702. The city maintained its top position in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, which it has held for more than three years. Cyprus (72nd) and Warsaw (78th) followed in the regional rankings. In the standalone fintech ranking, Astana moved up four places, from 55th to 51st.
