Kazakhstan’s Agency for Protection and Development of Competition has warned of a rise in fraudsters taking out loans in citizens’ names using social engineering.
The agency urges Kazakhstanis to stay vigilant regarding requests to perform actions in bank and MFO mobile apps, and not to grant access to their devices or personal data. Fraudsters continue to actively exploit these tactics to take out loans in victims’ names.
